Young Naturalist Lunch & Learn with Connie Nye
We are very excited to be hosting local children's author and environmental educator Connie Nye for a fun and informative webinar! Grab your lunch and log in to learn about watersheds and stewardship with Connie Nye utilizing her fun and interactive books.
Sweet Water Hunt is a mystery novel for grades 4-7; Can He Keep It? is a picture book for younger kids and their families. Connie will read, sing, and guide participants through fun activities about nature and protecting water that make learning fun! To participate in a guided activity during the webinar, please bring with you a crayon, a piece of white paper, and a fresh (not dried out) leaf, like a maple or oak (but not poison ivy!).
For a small taste of what Connie does, visit her on YouTube for some Co-vid encouraged field explorations, songs sung by Pete the Shad, and more!
Connie Nye lives in Downingtown, Pennsylvania, and has been working with children for thirty years in environmental, science, and outdoor education. She has developed numerous teacher workshops and programs for elementary, middle, and high school students, including Indoor Out School, Brandywine FLOWS (the Future/the Legacy of Our WaterShed) and the Red Streams Blue School Program. As the mother of two daughters, an avid outdoor person, and a writer, Ms. Nye couldn’t think of a better way to spend her days than exploring the Brandywine watershed.
