DCVA Young Naturalists: Saltwater vs. Freshwater Discovery
Saturday, December 17th from 10-11:30am
We're going to make a splash learning about the differences between saltwater and freshwater! Participants will learn facts about the properties of both types of water and why we should care about whether or not salt gets into our freshwater streams. We will then become community scientists in the Winter Salt Watch program by taking a hike to a stream and doing a simple test to measure chloride levels. This program is intended for children ages 5-10 and their caregivers, however younger children are also welcome to attend with the assistance of an attentive caregiver.
DCVA events are free - donations are very appreciated to support the work we do, but are not required.
