Invasives: Join us for Lunch with Garrett as he talks about invasive species in the Darby Creek watershed. He will explain the term invasive species and how they can affect our watershed. Garrett will also discuss the northern snakehead (it's an invasive fish), their biology, and what you can do to help limit their spread!
Garrett White is the Biological Science Technician at John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum, located in Southwest Philadelphia. He graduated in 2014 from Randolph-Macon College in Richmond, VA with a BS in Biology and Environmental Studies and has been working in conservation ever since. From Fairbanks, Alaska to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Garrett has worked to protect threatened and endangered species and eradicate invasive species all over the country. Along the way, he focused on connecting people to nature and the positive impact of their contributions.
