Watershed Hotline

There are 2 types of water pollution; Point Source Pollution and Non-point Source Pollution. Point Source Pollution comes from a specific source such as factory runoff, sewage, oil leak, construction site run off and dumping  to name a few. Non-point Pollution is caused by rainfall or snowmelt moving over and through the ground. As the runoff moves, it picks up and carries away natural and human-made pollutants that flows into our streams and creeks.

Darby Creek Valley Association has numerous educational programs to assist individuals and organizations on how to recognize non-point pollution and best practices to help keep our watershed and water clean.

Point Source Pollution should be reported . Keeping safety first try and document the source of the problem with pictures, take note of day , time, location, type of pollutant. If applicable licence plate or any writing on a vehicle.
